About Your Yoga Instructor:

Amy

Amy has been teaching yoga since 2007. She came to the practice when her health began to fail and a friend took her to a yoga class. Her favorite part was savasana. As a stressed-out mother she could not believe she was being given protected time to rest. Her love of movement and a desire to share the benefits of yoga led her to pursue training. She is 500 EYRT and has an M.S. in Kinesiology. She is trained in Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Flow and Pilates. As a musician she loves to sing and play her guitar while her students rest in savasana. In addition to her extensive experience teaching all levels of yoga classes, she has taught yoga history, philosophy, and practice at a university level, and has led teacher trainings. She has led retreats in California, Hawaii and now in Costa Rica.

“Amy has a really calm voice and I noticed that she took the time to come around and help *ALL* the students with their poses. In the few times I've done yoga -- I really like it when the teachers pay attention to who's in the class and who's floundering and just connecting with you as yoga teacher to student. She has this very calm and motherly touch. I really thought it was so nice to have her walk to each student during that last lying down pose and just give a gentle touch.. like acknowledging the link between you and her in one room. I also liked how everyone (other students) was just in their own zone and contributing their energy to the room (I've been to some yoga classes where sometime it feels like people are hella competitive next to you -- ugh. not a fan of that).”

— Dawn L. 2015 Yelp Review
“Last year I decided to take the 200 teacher training. I really had no intention of teaching yoga, I just wanted to learn more about this practice that I had been doing for years. This is one of the best decisions I have made in my life. The lead teachers Rosanne and Amy created a well-rounded training. All the modules were fantastic from anatomy to prenatal training. And, I made some friends who share my interest in the practice. It is a time commitment but worth every moment. I can honestly say the training changed my life. I continue learning and seeking new information on all aspects of the yoga practice from philosophy, meditation and the asana practice. The training lead me to continue studying aspects of yoga that I had been previously unaware. I would urge anyone to sign up for the training that starts in January.”
