Today I was telling a friend how hard at work we all have been to get Blue Osa up and running. Adam, myself, as well as many others, have give so much of ourselves into creating this home. The journey so far has seemed to be a long one, but in all, a joyful one. I think that most people tend to experience a bitter sweet taste as the opening day approaches, but for me, opening day represents the beginning of so many possibilities.
This journey has been difficult. We have faced many ups and downs, sometimes a few in the same day. But it is has been a joyful and adventurous journey.
Many ask what I is my moral glue, or that which I draw from. There are many ideals. But here is one, by George Bernard Shaw.
“This is the true joy in life, being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; being a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish little clod of ailments and grievances, complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy.
I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community and as long as I live, it is my duty, my privilege to do for it what I can. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work, the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no brief candle to me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for a moment and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations.”
